Hi everyone,

It is hard to believe that this half of the school year is about to end.

I want to say a big thank you to all the students who have been consistently coming to reading interventions; your hard work shows in the amount of progress you have made so far this year.

I also want to take this time to remind everyone that there will be no reading interventions from the week of December 14-17, 2020.  All students are to continue doing their reading work asynchronously and submitting their recorded reading assignments through their Raz-Kids account (see link on this page if needed).  Students are to send in three books from their level up reading library. They must also record themselves reading and take the quiz for each book they read.

Also although winter break is around the corner I want to encourage all students to please continue practicing their reading and sight words. Remember the more you practice the faster and better reader you become.

Have a wonderful Winter Break.

Remember: sight words are broken down by grade level and build on one another.

For example:

* Kindergarten students should practice the pre-primer and primer list.

 * Students in first grade should practice the words from the pre-primer, primer, and 1st-grade lists.

* Students in second grade should practice the same lists as a first-grader, plus the 2nd-grade list.

Mastering a list:  Mastering a list means you can read your lists quickly and without mistakes. If you master all the words you are working on, challenge yourself and go on to the next list. The goal is to be able to read all 220 words without errors.
